Company Background
Since 1968, KMI has provided attorneys, business owners, insurance companies and individuals with high-quality professional investigative services throughout the United States and around the world from headquarters in Marina del Rey, California. KMI associates include expert field investigators, paralegals, licensed process servers, researchers and former members of law enforcement (including bi-lingual Spanish speakers). All are committed to providing prompt assistance and complete confidentiality in every case or proceeding.
KMI founder Ken Macdonell, a native of Scotland, immigrated to the USA after flying more than 250 victorious missions in the British and US Air Forces during World War II. He was drawn to the field of private investigation because as he once said, “I could never sit behind a desk or take orders from anyone.” His own successful PI career spanning more than 50 years, Macdonell died in October 2003. His independent spirit lives on as KMI associates continue to handle an average of 300 cases per month from many long-term clients including prominent law firms and Fortune 500 insurance companies.
